Most essential oils are safe to use on babies. We have used a lot of Lavender, Thieves, Peace & Calming, Gentle Baby, Valor, and occasionally, RC or Myrrh on our daughter during her first year of life. A drop or two is all it takes, and all essential oils should be diluted with a carrier oil before applying to a baby. The safest place to apply essential oils to babies is on their feet. For example, if your baby spits up frequently, try a drop of peppermint diluted with coconut or olive oil across the middle of the feet where it corresponds to the digestive system. If your baby has a cold or cough, try RC on the padded part of the foot, by the base of the toes. This corresponds to the chest and will help prevent or break up congestion.
This is a very basic illustration of the Vita Flex points on the foot. More more details, refer to this post. While all Young Living essential oils are 100% pure and have been tested for potency, please make sure you understand the essential oils you are considering applying to your baby. I highly recommend the book Gentle Babies, by Debra Raybern. I am not affiliated with this book or author in any form, but wish to provide you with an excellent resource for using essential oils with your little ones.
